Community Newsletter Minor Update 1.5.3

I have just sent a newsletter out and the software didn't obey the feild13 for those that opted in or out of recieving the newsletter, so consequently it sent to all users and now im getting bombarded with " take me off your mailing list..." or " i didn't ask for this, why....." what can i do to prevent it?
